Why BeerMenus updated its Web Menu and why the new version is better
In June 2024, we released our brand new Web Menus!
Here's info on how to switch from the old website drink menu to our new Web Menu.
The primary value of the product—update on BeerMenus and your website will automatically update—remains unchanged. You'll still be able to save time through that workflow and not have to worry about updating your website separately from your BeerMenus page.
But we made some very big improvements to both the customization and setup process. Keep reading for a little more detail.
Self-serve customization and preview improvements
With our old website drink list, members of our support team would have to make design updates. Depending on our workload and the ins and outs of your website, that could take a few days.
Not so anymore. We're still happy to take care of design updates for no additional fee, but you can now customize your menu all on your own with a ton of customization settings.
You're also able to preview what the menu looks like in a preview right as you're customizing:
This allows you to instantly see what a settings change looks like.
If you already have a new Web Menu installed on your website, any design changes you make will automatically reflect on your website's menu.
The settings are all a big improvement, but the fact that without coding you can now update fonts, colors, etc. and match your Web Menu to your site and branding is a very big improvement.
It also makes it easy to split up your menu for situations where you want to have some content on one tab/page, some on another, etc. (E.g. if you want your On Tap section on one page and your cocktails on another.)
This is one of the most common Web Menu customization requests, so we're happy to make it easy for you to do it yourself!
Installation/setup process improvements
With this update we made it a lot easier to find your installation code on the site, and also created installation guides for all common website builders (e.g. Wix, Squarespace, etc.).
We also created a page that's easy to share with your web person—you can just send them a link to a single place where they can copy the installation code(s) without having to login. Seamless!
