How to permanently stop the FireStick from going to sleep:
Disabling the Sleep Timer:
- Go to Settings on your Firestick.
- Navigate to My Fire TV or Device & Software.
- Select Sleep or Display & Sounds > Display.
- Choose Sleep Mode Behavior.
- Select Sleep Timer.
- Set the sleep timer to Off or Never.
Other methods for soft/hard reset of the Firestick:
A. Quick-Restart the BeerMenus App
- Go Home: Press the Home button.
- Open Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications.
- Scroll to BeerMenus → press ☰ Menu on the remote.
- Choose Force Stop → OK.
- Back out, reopen BeerMenus from Your Apps & Games.
B. Soft-Reboot the Fire TV Stick
Method 1 – Remote Shortcut
- Hold SELECT (center) + PLAY/PAUSE together for 5 seconds.
- The screen turns black; after ~45 sec you’ll see the Fire TV splash and it will reload BeerMenus.
Method 2 – Via Settings
- Settings → My Fire TV (or Device & Software).
- Select Restart → OK to confirm.
C. Hard-Power-Cycle
- Gently unplug the micro-USB power cable or the wall adapter.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Plug it back in; boot-up takes ~1 minute
Tip: If you find yourself rebooting often, clear BeerMenus’ cache once a week and keep the Fire Stick’s storage above 500 MB free (Settings → My Fire TV → About → Storage).
