Web Menus: full-menu Settings vs. Menu Section settings

When customizing your Web Menu, you can apply some settings at two different levels:

  • Apply them to your full menu (i.e. to all your items)
  • Apply them only to menu items in certain Menu Sections

What settings can be applied this way?

  • Show/hide product description
  • Truncate/don't truncate product description
  • Show/hide serving type (e.g. On tap, bottle, etc.)
  • Show/hide producer location
  • Show/hide product ABV
  • Show/hide product style
  • Show/hide product IBU

How do I apply these settings to my entire menu?

On your Update Menu page, click the "Web" tab:

Then click the "Preview or edit" button:

Along the left side of the screen, click on the "Content" settings grouping to expand the options:

Scroll down to find the list of settings that apply to all items on your menu, and adjust as you wish. As soon as you check/uncheck a box the setting will autosave.

How do I apply settings to items in certain Menu Sections instead of to my entire menu?

Follow the same steps as above, then uncheck the box for the setting you only want to apply to items in certain Menu Sections.

Once the setting is unchecked, scroll down a bit to the Menu Sections area of the settings and click "Settings" beneath the Menu Section you want to apply a setting in.

Check the box for the setting you'd like to apply to the Menu Section you've chosen, and you're all set!

Why the two levels? When would I apply settings at the Menu Section level vs. my entire menu?

The most common use case is if you want to include full info about some items, but limited info about other items. For example, you may want to provide full descriptions, ABV, and producer location for the beers you have on tap, but only list the names of the beers you have in bottles.
